How to Set Weekly Goals to Change Your Life

Every week is a new start that you can take to start new goals and direct your progress and mood. Goals can also help you schedule what to do each day and help you achieve them.

While it is a good practice to set weekly goals, not many do it because they are unsure what goals to set and how to set them up. There are many ways to set weekly goals properly to help you change your life and get you started.

Here are 5 that I recommend you try out:

Review Your Daily Schedule

Before setting a goal, look at your schedule to see what you regularly do. Once you identify these activities, see which activities can be improved on. For example, if you tend to pile up tasks for one day, try dividing it throughout the week so your workload is more manageable and you can get more things done.

Use a Planner or a Calendar as a Guide

When you set goals, it is best to have them written somewhere so you can review these goals and check the ones you have already completed. You can write your goals in your calendar, planner or journal, which you regularly check and write on. When writing your goals, it is best to assign them based on your priorities and set a time frame for when you want to complete them. You can keep track of your progress by writing reminders throughout the week.

Assign Goals to Certain Dates

Since there are only 7 days in one week, you can schedule your goals to be completed on a specific day. This will help you stay focused on the tasks for that day and help you complete that goal. You should also list down the logical steps you can take to achieve these goals. As you try to do these goals, you will notice patterns you can gleam on to improve your progress for the next week when you do the same activity.

Do a Goal Check-in Regularly

While doing your tasks for the week and trying to achieve your goals, allot a schedule in the week to review your progress and set new goals you can try to achieve. For example, if you think specific goals feel unattainable, you can use the time to revise them and plan how to achieve them.

Celebrate when You Achieve Your Goals

You can continue to motivate yourself for weeks to come and be inspired to set up weekly goals by letting yourself celebrate once you achieve your weekly goals. Fulfilling your purposes isn’t a small feat, and if you truly want to change your life, you should let yourself know that you are on the right track and there’s a reward waiting for you at the end of each week. Some of the celebrations you can make are getting a pedicure, buying something you want to get and watching that movie you haven’t seen before.

If you genuinely want to change your life, you should take the initiative to make that first step. With the help of weekly goals, you can restructure how you look at the tasks before you and deal with them efficiently. So, don’t hesitate to try the tips above and create a weekly goal routine that works for you.
