Merry Christmas!

This is the season, not only to be jolly but to be giving and sharing joy with others. Since I don’t celebrate Thanksgiving (not a big holiday from where I come from), Christmas will be one of the jolly seasons that I am giving my thanks to.

I am grateful for the WordPress family here, who has been nothing but kind, supportive and encouraging. Occasionally, I do get abusive derogatory comments but I always brushed it off with laughter.

You see, I had it worse in my face or behind my back during my corporate years so cyber bullying means nothing to me, more of an amusement to be honest. However, I do come across bloggers who has been besieged with online abuse from keyboard warriors and I find that behaviour disgusting and uncalled for. Usually, such comments comes from trolls (those with WordPress account with barely 1 or 2 posts).

But the good truly outweighs the bad. I have many faithful readers turned friends, many who followed MiddleMe since it hatched and even many more who contributed useful advices and inspiring insight, sharing life experiences so as to encourage and inspire others who are facing similar situations.

The truth is that we don’t get that much support in real life, much less in our workplace. After all, the company pays you to get the work done, nobody has the time to hold your hand all the time.

Workplace is somewhere you spend more than 8 hours a day and some of us see our coworkers more than we see our family members. The perfect workplace will come with a conducive working environment, encouraging colleagues, a supportive management and fair policies.

Sadly, it isn’t always the case.

Blogs like MiddleMe provides a safe place to explore work issues and share solutions without prejudices and discrimination. Without WordPress family support and encouragement, MiddleMe would have crease to continue. So let us continue to support those blogs out there (new and old) with positive comments.

Have yourself a Merry Christmas and a wonderful time with your loved ones. Blessings to all!
